Following on from their critically acclaimed album, Vesper Sky, Yvonne, Stewart and
Carol’s latest piece, ‘The Last Brightness of Everything’ explores ‘the soundtrack of
the universe’, by way of a word and music painting, tracing humankind’s origins.
Heralded as ‘a work of requiem, environmental advocacy, exceptional originality, and elevation for these fractured times’, and inspired by theoretical astrophysicist, Janna Levin’s book, Black Hole Blues and Other Songs from Outer Space, audience response at various English and Scottish venues, including The Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock, has been extraordinary, resulting in standing ovations.
Yvonne has established herself as an artist of outstanding range through her critically acclaimed albums such as ‘Metanoia’, and drawing glittering praise from esteemed broadcasters, the great Bob Harris, and Michael Ball. Yvonne’s impressive CV lists performances with Beth Nielsen Chapman, Karine Polwart, Karen Matheson, and of late, Boo Hewerdine through their highly successful ‘Things Found In Books’ album and tours.
Stewart has long been applauded as the principle lyricist for BBC Music Award winner, Martyn Joseph; premier music magazines, Q, Mojo and Buzz placing Stewart’s material alongside Randy Newman, Radiohead, and Mike Scott of The Waterboys. Stewart has also collaborated with Wylam based singer-songwriter, Gareth Davies-Jones, and band member of ‘Howay The Lasses’, a past favourite at the Allen Valleys Folk Festival.
The Last Brightness of Everything running time: 55 minutes. Please note,
there is no interval, but refreshments will be served at the end of the
performance.
